Living Without Sinning

Everyday I see people running and jogging. It’s good to see such individual taking care of their physical health. Technology has been such a big help that we can accurately track our progress. How much calories we’ve burned, how fast we were going and the distance we’ve traveled. Like any other human task we always strive to do better than the last time. By looking our previous performance we can see which one we have to work on more.

Why can’t we do the same thing with our eternal health. Do you think it’s impossible to have a sin free life? Beside we’re talking about eternity here. Isn’t that what grace is for, to cover our sin? Grace is not an excuse to commit more sin rather, it should be the reason not to sin. Yes I know it is very hard to do. It is close to impossible. People who wanted to lose weight said the same thing and yet they were able to achieve it. Beside Jesus Christ himself said, If you love me obey my commandments and why call me Lord when you don’t do what I tell you to do.

So, how about it? Start today or tomorrow, remember your eternity depends on it. Thinking of a good eternal exercise here. How about stop lusting. Stop cursing. Caring more for other people instead of me, me, and me. Being loyal to your spouse not only when they have money. Stop watching porn. Stop going to the strip club. Being kind to someone even though they’re mean to you. Read your Bible instead of listening only from the Pastor. If you’re worried about keeping track of your progress, don’t worry God is up their recording everything. We will all take account for every word we’ve said and actions we’ve taken.

You could do this once or twice a week until you get better that you do them everyday. Not only when you feel guilty. Sooner or later your peers, parents, co-workers even your pets will soon notice and say you must be a Christian!! Congratulations your achieve your goal and the eternal crown of life will be waiting for you.

Let Man Be Man and Woman be Woman

Family is the basic cell of a healthy society. You want to destroy a country without actually waging a physical war, simple, destroy the family. No father to look up to, no mother to guide the home. No fear , no moral compass. Can not decipher what is right and wrong. No one to hold accountable to but only themselves. Majority of the empires fell and crumbled not because they were militarily defeated but because of moral bankruptcy.

And what better way to achieve this than to blurred the lines of what a man is and what a woman is. I probably be called a bigot or a sexist for writing this. I’ll write it anyway to show to you how you’ve been robbed of your innocence and purity. Blinded by this world. If you just take a step back and be the observer. Study every generation. Watch the classic movies and old tv shows and compare it today. Ask yourself how did we get in to this mess?

They are characteristics that makes a woman for what she is, the same thing goes with man. They are made for each other, help each other, complement each other and eventually complete each other, not to outdo and use and abuse each other. Society always dictate through the media and learning institutes that women must be and surpass men. That they can do better than men. In reality they are just things that women can’t do that men can do and vice versa. That’s what make them unique to each other. Not some  kind of deficiency.

They’re is nothing more joyful than having a family. Having children and watch them grow. When I first held my daughter in my arms the day she was born, I would describe it this way, “It’s hundred times better than falling in love with the woman of your dreams.” You have achieve your career goals and all the material things you wanted. Everyday we’re getting old and clock is ticking. For all those singles out there I didn’t say this to taunt you but to encourage you. It is for those who have deferred time and time again to pursue the cares of this world. How much is enough and when is enough. Sooner or later you’ll grow old. Death will come eventually. On your bed you remember the words again empowerment and progressive. “To who you ask, to myself or to the god of this world.” You realize you’ve been robbed all along.

Going to church religiously
Listen to the Pastor attentively
With paper and pen on hand
Taking notes
Never miss a service
Or even late

Know the word of God
From beginning to end
Quote the word of God
Like the back of hand
Sing songs of worship
And praises
Feeling of euphoria
Soul uplifting
Tears roll down
On cheek
Feeling the love
That’s been freely given

Good and kind
In every deed
Help the needy, feed the hungry

Looks like everything is perfect
But somethings missing
You never repented
From your sins

You could worship Him
And read His words
Love both neighbor and enemies
Even forsaking the world

But without repentance on your part
The word of God
Is of no effect
At all

Life Is Short

The day before Christmas eve, I found my self browsing through antique and thrift stores. Looking for anything that is of old, anything from the 18th to 19th century. To the 50’s until the 80’s. As the people I know from the older generation start dying one after the other. It dawns on me that sooner or later it’ll be my turn soon. I remember when I was younger, to just take my time. I had this sense of eternity and invincibility. Now that I’ll be turning 40, that isn’t the case. Those days were seem like yesterday. I found myself clamoring for the old things that I wish I could bring them back.

I had this sense of rejection of the technology we use today. Life was much simpler then. I start watching classic movies from the 50’s. I watched the 80’s music videos over and over to relieved all those good memories. Women were so beautiful in that time. Very classy and tactful. You could actually tell the difference between a man and woman. They were very pretty and the dress, don’t even start me on that. Sometimes I think I could travel back in time and live through their time. Not so today. Almost everyone is covered with tattoos or piercings. Just like what my brother told me,”You’re getting old indeed.”

Nowadays, I am always grasping for time. I guess you could say it’s one of the perks of being married and having a child. “Be careful what you wish for,” how many times I’ve heard that. I see many young people where I see myself in them during my younger years. The same advice I’m giving to them were the same advice that was given to me when I was at their age. I didn’t understand it then, now I’m living it.

Cherish the moments you have with your family and friends, people that’s always been there for you even though they’re not there with you. Don’t spend too much time on your phone or playing video games. Heck, don’t spend time at all with both of them. Because once a memory is gone it’s gone for good you can’t bring it back.

In spite all this observations, I don’t see the arrogance of mankind ceasing. But quite the opposite. Ever been proud and boastful. Having a sense of eternity and invincibility. Nothing is new under the sun, like the book of Ecclesiastes says.

In summary I leave you this verses:

“For the fate of the sons of man and the fate of the beasts is the same. As one dies so does the other; indeed, they all have the same breath and there is no advantage for man over beast, for all is vanity. All go to the same place. All came from dust and all return to dust.” (Ecc.3:19-20 NASB)

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” (Ecc.12:13 KJV)
